We went for breakfast and were not disappointed! The steak and egg taco on corn with pico is delicious. Their Dona sauce was so good we bought a tub of it to take home with us! I love that they use vital farms fresh eggs and that they sustainably source their ingredients. Delicious and healthy options for all...even with food sensitivities..there are easy modifications.

I will note that I was not able to use creamer in my coffee as i am dairy free and they only had half and half creamer. But this place is still 5 stars in my book. We went twice on our trip to Austin.

Review for 9/22/19 visit.  You know a place is good when there are a lot of people.  Consistently voted best Taco in the US by various polls.  Fast food but superb quality food.  So good that the stream of people never stops.

My daughter and I popped in for a light lunch.  We both got the the tacos as it's a taco joint known for tacos.  El Conquistador, Al Pastor and Shrimposito - tacos so tasty and fresh.  A mixture  of ingredients that become a harmony of flavors in your mouth.  So GOOD!  The chips and salsa - I couldn't stop eating.  Salsa so different that I swear I've never tasted anything like it and I have tasted hundreds of salsa before.  Icing of our meal was the horchata drink.  For newbies to horchata,  it's a drink made from grains usually ground rice mixed with cinnamon, cocoa, nutmeg, vanilla and other spices.  Most fast food establishments makes theirs from the sugary package mixture but Tacodeli's horchata is legit!  I agree with the assessment of best fast food Taco in the US!  Tacodeli - you certainly have my vote!

    Here's the deal:

Real tacos in San Antonio cost 1 or 2 bucks.
Here they are 3 or 4 bucks.

Other places I wait 5 or 10 minutes.
Here you wait 20 or 30.

Are the tacos unique and delicious? Absolutely.
    And local ingredients: awesome.

Is it worth 2x or 3x your time and money?
    Meh. It's a toss-up.
The vibe is cooler than Torchy's (the Applebees of tacos) so it's got that.

With 4 tacos costing over $20 w/tip now, I would like some clean tables to sit at, our order to be taken correctly and leaving with a full belly.

Unfortunately, Tacodeli fell short in all those things this time around.

I will say Tacodeli still has the most delicious tacos around but Torchys is a better value overall.

Great place to have a quick lunch and their tacos are awesome!
My co-worker recommended this place before we headed south to visit a customer site. I ordered two Mojo Fish and tried three different salsa. The hot one (lime green) was just okay, but  the orange one without label is extremely hot with habanero that brings a great kick.
The place was packed with lunch crowds around 12, and almost impossible to find a parking spot without patience of waiting.
This place does serve dinner, so be sure to come in before 3 pm to enjoy it!
